Incompetence Breeds Overtime

Author: Does anyone else notice that there seems to be a lot of unqualified people running jobs these days? I don’t know how these people keep their jobs but they sure do breed a lot of overtime for the skilled trades on the job.
The so called construction managers at the Motor City Casino project in Detroit is a company called MIG. The hotel is supposed to open in a couple weeks and there are still iron workers on the job setting steel. Over twenty years in the trade and I’ve never seen such a poorly run project.
Today I heard a casino patron ask a Motor City Casino employee when the hotel would be open. He said in a couple weeks it would be ready and they are already taking reservations for November, talk about denial. All I could do was chuckle to myself and try not to laugh out loud. Many on the project think they will be lucky to open by Jan. 08. Meanwhile MGM continues to welcome customers to it’s new $800 Million Vegas style resort.
