A Hallslug or Slug From the Hall is an electrician that works out of an IBEW referral hall. It is an industry term that represents the vast majority of IBEW Electricians.

There are some IBEW electricians who work steady for the same contractor. However a vast majority utilize IBEW hiring halls across America as a means of securing employment and providing the skilled labor force required to build and electrify most projects.

Most of the industrial and commercial construction projects in this country only require electricians on a temporary basis.  Hallslugs are the men and women who actually build and wire America. They are not always given the respect they deserve. They are the blue collar working class men and women of America.

I have been a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 58 for 20+ years. I have worked with many talented mechanics and good union electricians during that time.

IBEW Electricians are the most highly trained and skilled electricians in the country.
