Munising Trail Report 2/13
Warmed up again to the thirties during the day. Still dropping down to the twenties at night. The groomed snowmobile trails around Munising are in good condition with groomers running twice a day. It’s a little snirty and icy near town and the side of the roads is a little thin.
The old logging roads and some of the forest trails are excellent.
Munising Trail Report 2/11
Temperatures have dropped to the teens and we received around four inches of new snow here in Munising. Lake effect snow is supposed to continue till tomorrow. The trails are in much better shape with the new snow. The 419 connector into Wetmore is still dirty, but Trail 8 and Trail 7 are in good condition now. Groomers are out and now have more snow to work with.
Munising Trail Report 1/27
Temperatures warmed up again here in Munising. Snow in town and along the side of the roads is thin.
The Coalwood and Haywire section of Trail 8 are pretty bumpy. The 419 connector going into Wetmore is bumpy, snirty, and some of the corners closer to town are icy and dirty. Seems to be a little on the warm side for the groomers. The groomed snowmobile trails are fair to good at this time with an 8 inch base.
There is still good riding on the forest and logging roads in the Hiawatha National Forest. Good news is the weather forecast is calling for more lake effect snow this weekend. Maybe 8+ inches of powder on the way.
